FAO BLMK-FSRH Contraception Provision Course for Pharmacy Professionals.

The Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare is developing a new course for Pharmacy Professionals: FSRH Contraception Provision Course for Pharmacy Professionals.
The course will be piloted early in the new year and the FSRH is looking for Pharmacy Professionals to engage in the free pilot.

The course aims to support pharmacy professionals in the safe initiation and repeat provision of oral contraception.
The pilot will involve learners engaging in three modules:
Module 1 will be self-directed learning, with resources provided to support this (approx. 5.5 hours).
Module 2 and 3 will be online sessions, involving discussions and activities, led by experienced facilitators, each approx. 2.5 hours long.
Topics covered will include: an overview of contraceptive methods, contraindications and drug interactions, initiation and re-issuing of oral contraception and consultation skills.

Module 1 materials would be provided towards the end of January.
Module 2 virtual session scheduled to take place the evening of 27 February.
Module 3 virtual session scheduled to take place the evening of 11 March.

Going forward, attendance on this course will require a fee to be paid. However, attendance on the pilot will be free of charge with the requirement for learners to engage fully in all three modules, in addition to providing feedback throughout to support the course development.

There are limited spaces available on the free pilot and we are looking to recruit learners from a range of geographical locations. Places will be offered on a best representation of audience sample basis across locations.
