Central East ICB

A new Prescribing Guidance and Formulary landing webpage is now available within the Healthcare Professional area of the NHS Central East ICB website.

The webpage brings together prescribing guidance, shared care guidelines, formularies, pathways and information for healthcare professionals across NHS Central East ICB in a single place. It contains new Central East ICB prescribing information and also replaces prescribing guidance content previously hosted on the legacy Cambridgeshire and Peterborough ICB and Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes (BLMK) ICB websites. In the interim, prescribing guidance content for Hertfordshire remains available on the legacy website.

Important: The legacy Cambridgeshire and Peterborough ICB and Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes (BLMK) ICB websites will close on 30 September and will no longer be available after this date. Please update any saved links, favourites, bookmarks and local intranet references to the new Central East ICB landing webpage. 

Priority prescribing guidance, pathways and information from Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes and Cambridgeshire and Peterborough have now been migrated to the Central East ICB website. Hertfordshire content remains under review. During the transition, relevant Central East pages will link directly to applicable Hertfordshire guidance held on the legacy website.

What community pharmacy teams need to know

When referring to local prescribing information, please:

• Use the new Central East ICB Prescribing Guidance and Formulary landing webpage as your starting point;
• Select the prescribing guidance and formulary applicable to the patient’s area and care setting;
• Follow links to Hertfordshire legacy guidance where applicable; and
• Update locally saved links, favourites or bookmarks to direct to the new Central East ICB Prescribing Guidance and Formulary landing webpage before the legacy Cambridgeshire and Peterborough ICB and BLMK ICB websites close on 30 September.

Existing formularies

Existing formularies continue to apply to the populations and care settings for which they were developed while work progresses to align prescribing arrangements across NHS Central East ICB.

The new landing webpage provides links to:

• Bedfordshire and Luton Joint Formulary
• Milton Keynes Formulary
• Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Formulary
• Hertfordshire and West Essex Clinical Guidance, including Formulary

Please continue to use the prescribing guidance, pathways and formulary applicable to the patient’s area and care setting.

If you cannot find a document:

If you cannot find prescribing guidance, a pathway or other information that you previously used, please first:

1. Search the Central East ICB prescribing guidance pages.
2. Check the formulary relevant to the patient’s area and care setting.
3. Follow any links to Hertfordshire guidance held on the legacy website, where applicable.

If the information is still unavailable, email the Central East ICB Medicines Utilisation Management Team at ceicb.prescribingpartnership@nhs.net.

Please provide the document title or subject, the area to which it applied, the previous link if known, and a brief explanation of how the document is used. Do not include patient-identifiable information.
