EHC & Sexual Advice

Emergency Hormonal Contraception & Sexual advice
The aim of this Service is to increase the availability of Emergency Hormonal Contraception (EHC) to young women who are under the age of 25 and also raise awareness of the risks associated with unprotected sexual intercourse (UPSI). The Pharmacy will provide information on the full range of contraceptive options available, and refer the patient to local contraception services to discuss a more regular contraception method. The pharmacist should encourage all young women to screen for Chlamydia before issuing emergency contraception and must ensure the patient has read Client Leaflet –Emergency Contraception.
